Dental Crown.

Has your tooth been filled several times over the years? Does it keep on breaking? Does it have cracks on it? Is your tooth made up of more filling than actual tooth?

Dental Crown at Kareela Family Dental

If any of the above apply to your tooth, chances are your tooth needs something stronger than a filling. At Kareela Family Dental, we believe severely weakened and damaged teeth are best reinforced with a dental crown made from porcelain or gold.

Think of a dental crown like a personalized helmet – it is a custom-made medical device for your tooth which fits around it and protects it from breaking apart.

We use experienced, local Australian laboratories who fabricate your custom crown, using the highest quality TGA approved materials. Our crowns are colour matched to your other teeth so that it looks, feels and functions like your original tooth before it had any fillings!

The Procedure:

  1. Come in, put on your latest Netflix show (this appointment takes an hour- the perfect time for an episode!)
  2. Once your tooth is 100% numb with our painless anaesthetic technology, we’ll gently shape your tooth and take a mould of it which we send to the lab to make your custom crown – don’t worry- you’ll have a temporary crown while your final crowns are being made!
  3. Two weeks later come back and we will insert your porcelain crown – strengthening and improving the longevity of your tooth.

A well fitted dental crown will outlast the lifespan of a filling, and with proper care and maintenance, will last many years.

Call or Book online now with our Kareela dentists to discuss your options and advise whether a crown is suitable for you
